How did I get toenail fungus?
Fungus is ubiquitous. it may have been picked up in gym, pool or nail salon.
How do I treat toenail fungus? Will it come back once it is gone?
There are several ways to treat toenail fungus; inculding prescrpitions, topical medications, oral antifungal treatments. While oral medications tend to be more effectve, they do have more side effects which should be discussed with your provider. Although there are home remedies to treat fungus, such as vinegar soaks and vicks, you should reach out to your provider for treatment for the best results!
How can I prevent toenail fungus?
Wear shoes in public places, do not share nail clippers and be sure to clean clippers after every use. If going to nail salons consider bringing your own tools. Cleaning your shower regularly (especially if someone else in your home is experiencing toenail fungus)
